El Patron Mexican Grill in Pinetop-Lakeside

It's the best place to drink and get a great Mexican inexpensive meal for the lunch and dinner speacials are so good and affordable very great shrimp cocktail with a delicious salsa and chips during the meal and take out too. Great bands play on the weekends sometimes and an outdoor patio I bring my lil dog and we just chill there . Awesome wait staff and fast service a great bar too. I love living right by the place!

I prefer this Mexican restaurant over any other in Pinetop Lakeside. El Patron's veggie burrito is by far the best around and if you like strong tasty margaritas the Cadillac Margarita is probably the best around too.

Ordered chili con queso with meat, it came out like it was soup could not find meat in it. Also ordered cheese dip and it tasted like warm milk. I would not recommend this place. I read the reviews and there were many positive reviews, I do not understand why the quality of the food was so bad.We were extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. Service and price was good.

Great food, good prices, excellent happy hour margaritas and, fantastic tasting salsa. The Mexican pizza is gigantic! They even have a few suitable "keto"/low carb menu items without rice and beans.

Food was terrific. The shredded beef chimichanga was very good. The shrimp enchiladas were a 10! Service was friendly and personable. Strongly recommend.

The menu had a wide variety of options. The food was excellent. Prepared well, extremely tastey, and amazingly fresh!!! Especially the seafood options. Highly recommend for GREAT Mexican food in the white mountains!

Great food, service. The best salsa we had, very generous portion, nice & sizzling fajitas. We love Mexican food and have plenty in Tucson and Nogales, Sonora. But this place salsa was perfect combination of cilantro and onion. Loved their fajitas, you can really taste better quality of beef. Hands up. Definitely coming here again.

Was served cold coffee and our order was mixed up so half of us had to watch the other half eat, but other then that food was good.

The staff was very friendly. But I didn't go there for friends. I was very disappointed with the food. The beef tacos have no flavor, the beef tasted like it was cooked days ago. The beans that came with the plate were slimy and tasted old and left a rot smell in my mouth. The rice and bunches of lettuce thrown all over the plate was very warm like they microwaved the whole plate. I will never eat there again. And how does a place like that stay in business . There's never anyone there. Which should of been the first sign of horribleness, ay the middle of lunch. I already feel like I'm going to be sick and I just ate it 10 minutes ago. I can't go complain because no one there speaks English.

New to the area and this was our first time trying this place out. Keep in mind we only did the take out. Jalapeno poppers were cold and soggy. The soft tacos were also soggy. We'll try elsewhere in town next time

Excellent food, good service, and a pleasant atmosphere with a lot of nice southwestern paintings. The only fault I had was that the tea was colored water -- as weak as it gets.

Perhaps some of the worst food I have ever had the displeasure of even smelling much less tasting. Ordered the lunch special taco's and the food arrived immediately and after opening the lid of the container found steaming hot lettuce. Anyone knows that means one thing...MICROWAVE! Seriously $8 for microwaved Tacos! The second unwelcomed surprise this pile of slop had instore for me was the heavy smell of rot. With not much examination of the disastrous contents I found greasy moldy smelling tortillas, dried out rice and slimy beans. Needless to say this travesty of a meal wound up in the dumpster outside my office. The immortal words of Gordan Ramsay sums it up best, "wow, damn, damn, damn damn". Pathetic.

Seafood not so hot. I hear the more traditional dishes are "ok."

Our first time there for a dinner order; we did take out. First, their staff wore masks due to our CV19 situation. My wife and I enjoy taco salads and were not disappointed. Shells were well made and housed a nice supply of chicken along with other normal taco salad items. I would think that when we are in the PTLakeside area again we will have a meal there.

Was very pleased with the food and the service.

I dined at El Patron while visiting from out of town and was completely impressed with the service. Upon entering the restaurant it was surprising there was only one other table of customers during Saturday night dinner, but we received EXCELLENT service. By far, one of the most impressive servers. He did a fantastic job on keeping on-top of everything about our meal. I never actually got my water below half empty before he was asking to fill it up again! I normally don't take the time to write lengthy reviews, but I was completed shocked by this individual. Sadly I do not remember his name, but I would not hesitate to visit again. The food was also great and everyone in our party of 9 enjoyed their meal! He also had no problem giving us separate checks (some places wont). To sum it up - GREAT!

I celebrated my graduation today in this delicious restaurant. Well we passed a astonishing evening and the venue was definitely the reason for the successful evening. The stuff collaborated in a lovely manner, the cooking was delicious and my friends were very pleased. We shall definitely visit again for more celebrations. thanks very much.

I used to love this place but this recent visit was beyond disappointing! I had the ground beef chimichanga and my guest had ground beef tacos and we were both woken up in the middle of the night with horrible stomach cramps and running to the bathroom through the next afternoon with diarrhea! There was a gentleman at a table near us and when he left his table wasn't cleaned when he left. Also, the waitresses and a bus boy were only wearing masks over their mouths leaving their noses uncovered. We will not be going back!

Do not go to this restaurant. We went and ordered their happy hour margarita. They served us another, did not tell us. When the bill came the charge showed as as discount, but it was not subtracted from the bill. This is fraud. Food is just ok so not worth the fight.

We used to love this place and the food. However tonight we were seated at 4:57 and when the waitress came to get our drink order we wanted the Happy Hour Marguerita. It had just turned to 5:00 and she refused to honor the Happy Hour price so we just ordered water and skipped the drinks. When we recieved our food the carne asada burrito was cold inside and my chile relleno was the worst one I had ever had. On the flip side the chicken fajita's and green chile tamale were good. We didn't want to say anything because a friend was taking us out to dinner. We had been surprised at how empty it was when we came in but now wonder maybe this is the reason? We have visited them several times in the past and the food was quite good at that time. I hope this was just an off night.

If you want to feel at home, this is the place to go. They are awesome! The food and service are impeccable!

The service was a bit slow but the food was pretty good. They have a nice patio for outdoor seating. I also enjoyed the band.
